TripAdvisor releases restaurant ads
TripAdvisor isn’t just known for travel reviews as it’s also well-known for diners looking for recommendations and now TripAdvisor is offering the option for restaurant owners to place ads on the site.
TripAdvisor has listings for about 4.4 million restaurants and plans to make it easy for these businesses to reach local audiences and drive traffic to their listing via sponsored ad placements that are run on a Cost Per Click (CPC) model. It’s similar to how TripAdvisor allow you to use a CPC ad for bookings, where the traveler clicks on your ad and is directed into your booking engine instead of making their reservation through TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor is releasing this feature as 85% of their participants in their 2017 Restaurant Marketing Study feel they should be doing more to promote their restaurant. Restauranteurs will be able to target their ads for people looking for dining in a specific area, as well as cuisine type, meal price, and what meal of the day (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). By narrowing down the audience through these targeting parameters, the owners are only paying for clicks from qualified traffic.
So, if you have an on-site restaurant at your property and are looking to test advertising to boost reservations or foot traffic, you can sign up at www.TripAdvisor.com/AdsManager and visiting the Management Center. Like we noted above, it’s a CPC model and you’ll just need to specify a monthly spending limit prior. You’ll be billed at the end of the month based on how many clicks your ad received and you can cancel at any time.
