ADA Booking Engine Enhancements

Drive-by lawsuits were once limited to California.  In the last couple of years, those lawsuits have spread across the country and increased 400% at the federal level.  Lodging properties have been a big target in these lawsuits and rezStream is taking steps to help ensure our booking engine is not the cause.  We have implemented two features in our booking engine with this release to help assist those with disabilities in utilizing our booking engine, as well as help you as a property avoid these drive-by lawsuits.

ADA widget

This widget will automatically be installed on all Cloud PMS clients that utilize the online booking engine.  This widget is visible to every user that enters your property’s booking engine and can be accessed in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.  The purpose of this widget is to provide those with disabilities the tools they need to assist them in navigating the online booking experience.

ADA unit filter

On both step 1 and step 2 of the booking engine, a guest can check a box to indicate their preference is for an ADA accessible room.  The booking engine will then filter your units to display those you’ve marked as ADA accessible at the top of the unit search results.  There will be an icon denoting that room is accessible to those with disabilities.  When we download that reservation into the reservation software, we will indicate to you that the guest has specifically selected an ADA unit.

To mark your unit(s) as ADA accessible please navigate to Configuration > Units and select the appropriate unit to toggle it as ADA accessible.
