Reports. Revamped and Enhanced!
This is a big release! We’ve completely overhauled our reports section and added a lot of powerful new features. We think you will be pleased, and we strongly encourage you to read the release details below to learn more.

New Look and Feel
Upon your first visit to the Reports section, you’ll find a simplified view of the reporting categories available to you. Each category is expandable to see the collection of reports within. As always, you can search for reports by name or description and any matching reports will appear instantly.
You’ll notice some new categories of reports and some new Enhanced Reports within many categories. We’ll deep dive into Enhanced Reports below, but for now, note that Enhanced Reports have either replaced old reports, or are completely new reports. Reports that we have not yet enhanced look the same as before.
Favorites
As our list of available reports grows, and to make it easy to keep track of what is important to you, we have introduced the concept of “Favorites”. With a single click you can add a report to your list of Favorite Reports which will always appear at the top of your list of reports. If you only run a handful of reports each day, week or month, this will simplify the process and make your standard reports quick and easy to access.
Additionally, these favorites are unique for each user. So, your front desk personnel may have reports they like to run, but the owner/manager may have a different set of reports they care about. Each user can have their own favorites so nobody has to compromise!
New Enhanced Reports
As noted earlier, we have a new (and expanding) set of Enhanced Reports that include:
- Subscriptions – schedule your report to be delivered to your inbox without any interaction from you
- Exporting to multiple formats
- Drill downs into the details of your data
- Charts and Graphs to represent your data visually
- Enhanced UI to make picking dates and date ranges faster and easier
The new Enhanced Reports are denoted by a diamond icon so you can easily identify them. Reports listed without the Enhanced Report diamond icon are the same reports that you have become familiar with in rezStream Cloud.
Subscriptions and Schedules
There are some reports that you need to run every day, every week, every month, etc. Enhanced Reports allow you to subscribe to any report that you need on a regular basis and have it delivered directly to your inbox on a regular schedule. No more manual effort required! Sharing a report is as simple as forwarding that email. Alternatively, feel free to add users to your rezStream Cloud account so those users can get the reports they need when they need them.
Exporting
Enhanced Reports support exporting to PDF, CSV and Excel. In addition, if you want to do something more complex with your data programmatically, we also support advanced exports to XML and Json.
Drill Down + Charts and Graphs
Many of the new Enhanced Reports provide the ability to drill down into the details of your data so you can see things from a high level, but also dig deeper to evaluate what is working and what isn’t. In the following example, we drill down into our Revenue by Type. We can drill down into our Point of Sale (POS) revenue to see which POS Categories are performing (and which items if we want to go deeper). Likewise, we can drill down into our Unit revenue to see the breakdown by unit type and dig deeper to look by unit and finally, even deeper to see the individual line items that comprise those totals. Even the pie chart supports drilling down!
Better Date and Range Selection
Many of our users have reported that selecting a date range on our reports could be tedious depending on what you were trying to do. Based on that feedback, we have introduced a new date/date range selection tool. Our new date selector provides quick access to common date ranges (This Week, Last Week, This Month, Next Month, etc.) as well as a more intuitive interface for selecting date ranges.
