Interview with a Cloud PMS Alpha tester

Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Alpha testing anymore.
Excuse us for borrowing a classic, but we’re pretty excited about transitioning into Beta testing. As we move forward, we wanted to take the opportunity to talk with one of our Alpha testers to see how the Cloud PMS is meeting the needs of our clients.
Scott Pearhill, over at Home Hotel Lava Hot Springs, was nice enough to help us out and provide some answers and feedback about the software so far. So a big thank you to Scott for taking the time to chat about the Cloud PMS.

Interview with an Alpha Tester:
Why did you want to participate in Alpha testing?
I participated in the Alpha testing because I want to see the RezStream Cloud PMS up and running as soon as possible. I need the convenience of accessing RezStream on multiple computers, especially my laptop when I am traveling.
In general, how much did you know about Cloud software before Alpha testing?
I use the cloud every day. Google “Drive” is my mobile office where I store business data. I also only use cloud-based email so that I can access it from any device and from any location.
Are you comfortable using RezStream’s Cloud reservation software?
I love the new Rezstream Cloud PMS. It is more user-friendly and intuitive than the original RezStream Professional.
What are your favorite features of the Cloud reservation software?
Making reservations is easier, with more of the critical reservation information displaying during the booking process (less need to switch screens). Making a group reservation is much improved. I love that while making the group reservation, I see a brief financial recap of each group assignment and a group total cost, on the right hand side of the occupancy map. We can also see the group name and each room assignment name on the occupancy map. Much better.
What’s the process for providing feedback been like?
I think Rezstream has done a great job of listening to its client base. The webinars have also been very useful. I do think the new cloud based software is in large part based on client preferences.
Are you excited about using RezStream’s Cloud reservation software?
I am excited. At first I was concerned that my staff would have difficulty learning a new piece of software, but having had the opportunity to explore the new cloud PMS, I think most critical aspects of it are intuitive and easy to pick up. I allowed one of my managers to mess around with the alpha version and she was immediately able to make a reservation and edit it.
Are there upcoming features you’re excited about?
I am looking forward to a better email editor than the one in the older RezStream Professional. I am hoping that eventually the editor will allow email to merge with our contact data base so we can easily create email lists based on customer preferences. I understand this may not be available in the initial roll-out.
In one sentence, sum up your experience with RezStream’s Cloud reservation software.
The new RezStream Cloud software is a huge leap forward!
Thanks to Alpha testers like Scott and his staff at Home Hotel Lava Hot Springs, we’re rolling into Beta testing confident our product is meeting the requirements our clients have requested over the years. We look forward to moving through Beta testing until it’s time for the official product launch!
