Select highlights from the Select Registry Conference
We had a fantastic time at the 2015 Select Registry Membership Conference in early September where we got the chance not only to present educational sessions on trends in the hospitality industry, but listen in on other sessions from some of our favorite speakers.
At the conference, Josh shared information on maximizing revenue through different business channels and Liz provided expert tips on remarketing. Many conference attendees were interested in costs associated with remarketing, tracking success, and what types of ads work best. Like applying any marketing tactic, you need to test what’s best for your property, but overall we’ve seen success with remarketing using budgets of $150-200 each month, tracking the campaigns with Google Analytics, and keeping it simple to start by designed static ads before spending the money on complex rich media ads that may not see that great of return on investment.
Our tradeshow booth was buzzing with questions about our RezStream Cloud software like, when is it available and how is the product different? We were happy to share updates and demos on the software and we know any of our sales staff is happy to answer your questions. Outside our booth, people were curious about OTAs and how smaller properties can leverage them without losing too much money in commission costs and how to set the right expectations for guests who may have been looking for a traditional hotel.
In other news on the tradeshow floor, we were surprised to hear about Jay Karen’s departure from Select Registry and wish him well in his next endeavor. Select Registry continues to see rapid growth in its membership and will continue to be a key association for many of our inn and bed and breakfast clients. We’re very excited to see what they’ll bring to the table in 2016.
Finally, we have to thank Jeff for sharing this wonderful photo of Josh enjoying his time in Key West! Now we just wish the whole office could have attended Select Registry’s conference!
